SunTrust Banks sent out letters this week warning that personal information might have been compromised. The bank has 142 branches in Central Florida and 551 in the entire state. Amber Swanson is a SunTrust customer. She just received her letter on Wednesday. "Obviously they took the appropriate measures to make sure if there was any fraudulent activity, if there were any mistakes," Swanson said. "They took the measures to cut it off immediately and send me new cards. The question is, 'Why?' Because they don't say why in any of the letters." The bank said when customers use their card at a place like a restaurant, the restaurant doesn't take the money out of the account -- a processing company does. _______________________________________________ Dataloss Mailing List (dataloss () datalossdb org) CREDANT Technologies, a leader in data security, offers advanced data encryption solutions.
