Alberta Health Services says the missing laptops were chained to desks in the locked Provincial Lab Information Technology room when they were stolen on June 4. The hard drives of the laptops contained a random sample of 250,000 lab reports for communicable and reportable diseases. While not complete health records, the sample data contained personal identifiable information such as patients’ names and personal health numbers.
