Exactly - the Government to major industrials communication pathways
generally stop at C-levels. The intel to industrials comms are even
narrower for the US industrial sector as a whole. People can look to
the DIB now and how recent those paths are in US history - they
post-date a lot of the "evidence" already be five to ten years.

This idea that US intel is systematically participating in the same
type of state-driven economic and industrial planning as the PLA is
absurd.

On the other hand - a lot of other state actors are entering that fray
and China is (or will soon) find out that ~they~ are the low-hanging
fruit of well developed economic options now. It seems it took China
quite some years of thievery before they are even approaching being
able to use the higher-end bits - likewise they're not the low-hanging
fruit for others. I don't think it will be long before certain Chinese
sectors will be pointing a finger at Myanmar and Argentina for
example.

That said, if China (and other countries to a lesser extent) don't stop and
we can't dissuade them, who knows what will happen. They may decide "if you
can't beat 'em, join 'em." But that hasn't happened yet.

I'd hope - at the very least - people start thinking what it means to
~compete~.. it's not just about hoarding IP and IP Obesity. It's about
a total brand, services, PR, etc. Agility can be gained beyond just
your core data that has been stolen.
