(http://lcamtuf.blogspot.com/2010/06/intrusion-detection-doing-it-wrong.html):
"""
The key to surviving a compromise may lie in the capability to detect a successful
attack very early on. The attackers you should be fearing the most are just humans,
and have to learn about the intricacies of your networks, and the value of every
asset, as they go. These precious hours may give you the opportunity to recover -
right before an incident becomes a disaster.
"""

One of the slides which made no sense in my FIRST talk (if you were not there) was an
empty slide, there to represent the publicly available works on how to actually hack
into things (aka, Operator Training, etc.).

Let's assume finding out the value of assets, learning about networks, etc. is an
hours long project for an experienced hacker. Assuming that, then the obvious next
step for hackers is spending all their time building AI's that can handle such things
faster and better than they can! Hooray! We've reduced the industry to the AI
problem, like all computer problems do eventually. :>
