Hi all This is just a small note as a follow up on my original advisory posted to the BugTraq mailing list in regards to Microsoft's ODBC Database Drivers. I recently got my hands on Office 2000 Premium... I am not sure about the other versions of MS 2000 products, but I presume they all will include it. Office 2000 includes updated OLE, ODBC, and other database engines, ASWELL as additional and updated DRIVERS for the actual Databases. I happily run heavy-loaded IIS web sites with Databases connected and "interconnected" from different platforms such as Microsoft SQL, Access and others. In about 4 weeks, the only problems I had was ASP statements looping:) The Database connections are as stable as a rock (For now)... I'll advise anyone who's been having the mentioned problems, to either upgrade their MS Office to the 2000 product range, visit http://www.microsoft.com/data/ and download the newer database engines & drivers, or do database routines through Microsoft Transaction Server which will protect the OS and applications from locking up. Kind Regards Chris Knipe For those who are interested, I have the following versions installed: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ODBC Version: ODBC Driver Manager: 3.510.37110.0 ODBC Driver Administrator: 3.510.37110.0 Database Drivers: ACCESS Driver: 4.00.3711.08 dBase Driver: 4.00.3711.08 dBase VFP Driver: 6.00.8428.00 Excel Driver: 4.00.3711.08 FoxPro Driver: 4.00.3711.08 FoxPro VFP Driver: 6.00.8428.00 Oracle Driver: 2.573.3711.00 Paradox Driver: 4.00.3711.08 TXT Driver: 4.00.3711.08 VisualPro Driver: 6.00.8428.00 SQL Driver: 3.70.06.23 As you more than likely noticed, there's a few huge changes here... It's actually good... <HR NOSHADE> <UL> <LI>application/x-pkcs7-signature attachment: smime.p7s </UL>
