All, This is some of the feedback I've got so fare on this, some people have seen it some have not... AOL Instant messenger seems a good one for it also [Success / Failures] Blake Frantz [blake () mc net] - Could not replicate James, Samuel P [JAMESSP () sce com] - Could not replicate Jeremy McKane [jeremym () x2access net] - Could not replicate p0rt23 () postoffice swbell net - Could replicate (AOL Instant Messenger) [Interesting Idea] Jacek Lipkowski [sq5bpf () acid ch pw edu pl] i'm not a windows guru, but i recall, that under windows 95 you could chande any interrupt vector by using standard dos calls (int 0x21 function 0x25/0x35 or something similar) - this is presumably for compablity with dos applications. i don't know, what edit (or really qbasic.exe) was compiled with, but i remember that some compilers produced executables which caught the keyboard interrupt in order to service the keyboard (and this of course bypasses all windows 'security' if there is any). this is also the reason, why many dos keylogging programs continue to work under windows. all that i can suggest is to switch to some os, that implements real security, like unix for example (sorry, couldn't help myself not do do some m$ bashing :) Rgds Ollie ----/ Ollie Whitehouse I.T Co-Ordinator Delphis Consulting VOX: 0171 692 7689 (Direct Dial) VOX: 0171 916 0200 (Switchboard) FAX: 0171 916 1590 (Main) E-M: ollie () delphisconsult co uk /----
