They are checking to see if they have net connectivity, because it can run in offline mode. If you try to send a packet to an unreachable host, you'll get an ICMP unreachable -> EXXXX socket error. --Perry
Sniffing the network I can see this strange behavior: Each time a PC client is starting a pointcast update, it will send packets with a destination IP address of 1.1.1.1 The destination port is 12345, 1 or 8080 The source port varies I have look at the pointcast knowledge-db wo/ finding anything Anyone have any idea on that?
