[ details of bug deleted ] If, as you say, an ID Software employee has ignored your reports of this bug, then that is _very_ poor.
First, QuakeWorld is an unsupported product (and states as much very clearly in all of the documentation I've seen for it). Sure it would be great if they fixed this bug (and others in the also-unsupported Linux ports), but I would be surprised if anything happened on this front unless the same bug is in a supported product. Wether Zoid is an employee or not, this product was done purely for public benefit and testing of a new networking paradigm (which was used at least partially in Quake2). In general id is very open about things though (letting people port their games, releasing source to games), and I think that these sorts of issues would get fixed straight away by the id-faithful were they to release these sections of code. They might be surprised at the level of support their legacy code sees if they open it up sooner rather than later. Wether this makes business sense to them is another story... Just a thought- -Mike
