How to start with Infosec? That's a very broad question and Infosec is pretty broad too. Depending upon your interests 
you have to progress, though eventually in a decade you might get to work on some or all

1) Malware or reverse engg
2) Vulnerability Analysis
3) Penetration testing
4) Forensics
5) Application Risk assesment


The best way would be to start with wiki and go with the flow (links) and start experimenting with tools and 
techniques. It takes time but you wouldn't notice that I am sure if you are having fun. Mastering BT4 tools should be 
your goal, it consists of manual and automatic techniques. Have fun :-)
