Hi Pascal, 


If a commercial tool is ok with you then you could perhaps check out Bigfix. It's agent based and covers multiple 
platforms.
It can cover vulnerability management, patch management and more depending on your requirement.
It was recently acquired by one of the big IT brands so I'm not sure if it will be good or bad for the tool.

- Listing local installed software (standard packages) for all linux and
windows systems.
- Downloading CVEs database that is free of charge
- Comparing local software and CVEs to issue security alerts.
- Simple to install, cross platforms
