I could finally work around the problem. It appears there was a dll with the same name (probably put there by another application) in win/system32 folder so the ruby interpreter tried to access the function in that dll and couldn't find it. Thanks and sorry Mauricio On Sat, Oct 4, 2008 at 5:06 PM, Mau Bs <drm.mailist () gmail com> wrote:
Hello everyone, I'm new to all this security area, but trying to learn a few things by myself. This is my very first post in the mailing list. I was trying to install the Metasploit Framework 3.1 for Windows (not the Cygwin one), and the installation goes ok, but, when I try to execute the GUI interface, it prompts an error that says it can not find the entry point for XML .. function located in xmlparse.dll. I began tracking the problem along the ruby scripts, and what I found is that when it tries to execute "require pango.so" in the pango.rb file, it fails. Got any clues? Thank you! Mauricio B
