Solved it, i didnt make the original setup of the server.. shouldve lurked around more before asking questions.. the win2k3 server was syncing to a external source using atomicsync (which had bad sources). Removed AtomicSync and used w32tm to sync the server with gateway. Thanks for the responses. 2008/5/12 Ramsdell, Scott <Scott.Ramsdell () cellnethunt com>:
Razi, From memory, Windows synchs to time.windows.com for NTP in standalone mode. In a domain, it should synch to (I believe) the domain controller performing the PDC emulation role. I believe the PDC emulator is also the NTP server by default, but again, this is all from memory. I would wonder if you are in a domain, and if so, is the PDC emulator DC running Win2k? If it is, did it receive the time zone patch last year? It randomly changes the date, to one day behind of current date. i.e its 2008/05/12 today, win2k3 thinks its 2008/05/11. Has anyone experianced such thing? Ive tripplechecked timezones and so on, however everything is correct. The server is running a default setup when it comes to datesettings, doesnt sync to a local ntp. Could it possibly be that the hardwareclock is beeing a wierdo, or does windows sync to a external NTP by default? Any help much appriciated. -- Razi G.
