GIAC is more akin to a vendor, like Microsoft. The vendor is actuals SANS, but GIAC itself isn't a cert. The certs are
ones like GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) or GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH). Usually it's one
proctored exam for the Silver level certification. After achieving Silver level, you can work on a thesis to achieve
Gold level certification.

Subject: GIAC certification question

Hello,

Does anyone know how many certs/exams are required for the GIAC designation?

I looked at the SANS site and see 13 listed under the Security
Administration heading.
Does anyone know for sure what is required?
http://www.giac.org/certifications/roadmap.php

Thanks
