There are people who have already done this and this and it works using bluetooth. The simplest way for you to try it out is using a bluetooth enabled PC and a sony ericsson (Others should also work. Though a bit of work might be required) bluetooth enabled mobile phone that users owns. What you will need is: 1) A PC/Laptop 2) Bluetooth connectivity (Native or via a dongle) 3) A bluetooth enable mobile phone (Preferably Sony Ericsson) 4) FMA (Float's Mobile Agent). Its an open source tool that gives you many more features along with the workstation locking/unlocking based on user proximity to the device. Happy Locking/Unlocking
