I have in the past used a 3 tier approach to Virus protection and it
saved my bacon more that once.  It can become a bit pricey but
managment felt the same way I did at the time.  I used one package for
my Exchange environment (Trend Micro), another for the servers
(Symantec/Norton) and a third for the Workstations (McAfee).  Now
there was some real effort in determining what to put where, and we
evaluated all 3 products in all three locations and this is where they
worked best for the users and Systems staff.  This was also back inthe
1990s and a lot of new technologies have emerged since then and more
vendors to select from.

I would be very careful about putting all of your eggs in one basket.
