I think you may be able to do this on the PABX itself. It does depend on the system-do you have a good 'map' of the network? On our system we can put codes in to each extension to disallow calls of a certain nature or to certain places etc. -----Original Message----- From: listbounce () securityfocus com [mailto:listbounce () securityfocus com] On Behalf Of Mister Dookie Sent: Tuesday, July 24, 2007 7:24 AM To: security-basics () securityfocus com Subject: Terminating Unauthorized Connections Hey list, Is there a program or method out there, if you know the telephone number and extension, for you to use a modem at a remote location and kick out some specials commands or garbage (noise, whatever) that will disconnect a modem at another location within the enterprise? We are looking for a method of terminating connections out of the enterprise, such as fax machines and data modems that are no longer supported by the organization and could be a source of data leakage since they do not fall under our network policy. Something that would pretty much monitor the company PBX and disconnect any modems that are trying to connect out. Any suggestions? Thanks! Regards, John
