hi list

for privacy reasons I am searching for solution to browse the web
(also other protocols than HTTP) anonymously. I tried several FOSS and
free offers like EFF Tor (onion routing), JAP and web interfaces.

Everything I tried have the same disadvantage... it is very slow. By
googling I saw a lot of pay services for anonymity. Can you recommend
and review me a product or service for Windows? Optimal would be
support for Linux and Solaris too.

What are you using to browse the web anonymous? How is the speed?
Anyone use this in corporate environments?

Easiest way I can see is to use a *nix and never use your real name ,address, etc,as far as privacy goes.At least if it's not with known party(ies) on the other end. Also *nix has some nice proxies you can use, especially if you're running a home network....ie: One box for proxy/firewall/router,the others to surf thru.I believe there are some proxies for windows that can be used the same way.

By the way,are you on dial-up,*dsl,cable or what are your prerequisites for speed.

Don't know if this is much help, but I believe setting up your own proxy server is more secure. As long as you configure it right.

There are plenty of resources out there.Just google on proxy.

Good luck & regards,monique
