Both of these recommendations are throwing the baby out with the bath
water and could cause many more problems than you had before.

You can either disable the Protected Storage Service or delete the users
profile.  There is also some options as far as GPO's but I can't
remember them off the top of my head.  There are other ways but those
are the few that come to me right away...
