Yes, and the two most common are BrutusA2 (aged) and Hydra
(www.thc.org). In both instances you have to provide a potential
password and user list files.

  a netbios brute force tool which can crack login password of systems
over the lan?. if  yes ...what are the common tools and how does one
prevent such abuse(long passwords or limit on checks )?.
