Hi Mike-

There's a number of 3rd-party encryption programs for handhelds. Off
hand, Utimaco, PointSec, and iAnywhere support SymbianOS devices. I'm
sure there are others as well.

You're right to worry about that...we're currently looking at a similar
solution for our planned PDA rollout, though we're not set on our
platform yet.

Hi there

Regarding these Nokia handheld devices, is there an easy way to encrypt
(using built in or third party solution) the info held on them, similar
to say Safeboot for laptops, such that it is transparent for users (ie
easy), but, if the device gets into the wrong hands the info is safe?

We're concerned that while data maybe transported to the device
securely by whatever means (say email), once its decrypted and stored
locally on the device the data becomes vulnerable.

Thanks
Mike
