There are not many Vista Flaws found as of now because its so new.  It probably wouldnt hurt to have the virus scanner, 
firewall...etc...but that final decision is up to you.  I am a systems admin at my university, but im sure berkley has 
much more security standards than we do.  Just my two cents.
