And if you want to avoid such problems setup a (local) firewall so that only tor can connect outside. It is also a good idea to have private IP address (e.g., 10.0.0.1) which is NAT-ed by (non-host) firewall, so that the host itself does not know its external IP. -- Regards, ASK
