I haven't had a chance to read the whole article, but if, as it appears, OpenVPN can bridge too then it will of course be able to transport non-IP protocols, including IPX! I stand corrected- it appears there is at least one SSL VPN client that can transport IPX.... Thanks for the link. Mark ---- Original message ----

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't OpenVPN capable of handling the IPX protocol, As stated on the OpenVPN's website FAQ. http://openvpn.net/faq.html "What is the difference between bridging and routing? Bridging and routing are two methods of linking systems via a VPN. Bridging advantages * Broadcasts traverse the VPN -- this allows software that depends on LAN broadcasts such as Windows NetBIOS file sharing and network neighborhood browsing to work. * No route statements to configure. * Works with any protocol that can function over Ethernet, including IPv4, IPv6, Netware IPX, AppleTalk, etc. * Relatively easy-to-configure solution for road warriors."
