If this will meet your needs, you can write a script to show the same output
as the Add/Remove Programs applet in the Control Panel. You could write a
script to look at all keys under
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall, and for all keys
that have a "DisplayName" value, show (or store, email, whatever) the data
for it. This is (afaik from doing a quick RegMon) how Add/Remove Programs
generates its list.

Subject: Microsoft Software Auditing ?

Hello,

Does any body know of any free / cheap Microsoft auditing software ?

Ideally I would like something that could be run from a login script,
that would find all the software currently installed and either:

store it in a network drive (excel, html, txt)
e-mail the data

I do not want to have to take out a loan to buy this software.

preferably open source :)

Michael
