What terminal software are you using?

If it's the one that ships with windows (vitually every version) there
is a bug that stops break working.

Go to the hilgreave site (see the help about) and download the personal
version.

This should do the trick. Or ofcourse use a completely different
terminal enulator (there are plent of shareware ones about!)

Hope this helps

The original boot config may have been set to ignore the break sequence.
That may be why you are unable to get it to respond to the break
sequence.

You should definitely be able to issue a break to get into rommon.
Did
you look at this

Sorry if the links break.

Dear list,

I have a used cisco 2600 router @ hand. Like to check how can I change
with
the password so as to access it. When I do a show version, the
configuration
settings is as below:
0x2102

Is there anywhere to recover it? I checked the internet, it seems that
with
the above configuration settings, I'm unable to issue break to go into
ROM
monitor. Is there any advise?

Do take note that this router belobgs to me. But I got it from others
who
have forgotten the password. :p

Thank you and best regards,

Kim Seng
