Dear all, Content scanning for Email with Mailsweeper (Clearswift) is sensible option. But Content scanner will only understand the content (Email attachment) risk and block it. Since any content technology scans Email contents, it dose not execute it. So integrating antivirus with content scanner will clean and delete any virus affected mail. Integrating your content filter with antivirus make more sense. Regards, Sandeep khedekar, Technical Consultant, e-Security Solutions & Managed Services, MIEL e-Security Pvt. Ltd.,Mumbai. INDIA. Dear Jasson, You can put content filter (mimesweeper) in front of your mail server, where policies can be defined for the email contents & attachments allowed. Was asked to look into maybe putting in a Linux box in front of our
server to stop the massive amounts of email attachments we have been receiving as of late due to 'MyDoom'. We currently have a WG FireBoxII
and
software on our Mail Server that is supposed to be catching
everything, but
with so much coming in it's missing alot. I was wondering if anyone
had any
ideas on some type of solution for this, all input is greatly
appreciated.
Thank you. Jason Haith Genesis Systems
