check your area and see if you have a chapter of
the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS).
ASIS covers all aspects of security.

Subject: Security Associations

I would like to get an opinion from anyone on this list about which security
associations are worthwhile joining. I'm interested in attending
presentations and also forums where I can exchange ideas with other like
minded security professionals. Generally, I would like to be part of an
organisation which shares knowledge and is respected within the community.

I live in Melbourne, Australia so if anyone from that area knows of local
chapters of security associations, I'd be very interested.
