nocat authentication does that.....there was an article on it in last
months linux journal

        Does any body have ever tried 802.1x authentication using some
GUI software??? I'm trying to find a GUI software that can communicate
to the backbone switch and show the user a dialog box of username and
password.

        Please advice.
