Does anyone have any experience with centrally locating Windows2000 log files, for disaster recovery sake?
Ths question pops up once in a while, and IIRC, there are a number of vendors that sell such products. I find the Kiwi syslog daemon a good tool to my taste. It is freeware, though you an buy an extended version for a low price.
More importantly, has anyone ever done this with a Perl script or reliable freeware?
I have heard of people making their own Perl tools, you should be able to find them on Google. I cannot imagine it is worth the hazzle though.
