I have several sites and all of them are running Linux. I use frame relay to connect these sites. The mail traffic between sites is annoying and eats almost 50% of existing bandwidth. Is there any open source application to compress the traffic or to limit bandwidth usage between sites under Linux (in order also to secure connection)?
If you are admin at all the sites and could use VPNs, the package OpenVPN can be configured to compress quite heavily. If I remember correctly, it will also throttle bandwidth. -- Glenn English ghe () slsware com --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
