There is a freeware version of tripwire. It does not encrypt its database and is very manual to set up, but it is still one of the best out there. Tripwire and its central management would likely cost you less in the long term however. Just look at the maintenance costs in terms of personnel and increased security(because the databases are encrypted). --Nathan -----Original Message----- From: Brown, Tony [mailto:TBrown2 () nmff org] Sent: Monday, April 14, 2003 12:38 PM To: security-basics () securityfocus com Subject: TripWire like product Hello All, My supervisor is open source minded and would not like to spend the bucks on Tripwire. Can anyone suggest an open source comparison that will run on multiple Unix platforms?
