Hello Swanepoel, First: Sorry for my bad english! Well... the bridge feature is still not the easiest way. I have installed the same scenario on my computer. In bridge mode windows still alert about a IP address conflict with an other system. I have tried DHCP at Linux just like static IP addresses. No solution! My Linux is still "offline" in this VMware Sandbox, no ping no dns resolution, nothing... But the solution with bridge mode should work... at least the instructions promise this ... ;) Regards Shade -----Ursprüngliche Nachricht----- Von: Joseph Gruber [mailto:jgruber () tampabay rr com] Gesendet: Mittwoch, 9. What I did to get the traffic through the linux box was using the bridge feature (I believe that is the one) of VMWare to give the VM it's own IP on the network. I then put that box in the DMZ (a feature found on my router but may not be on yours if you have one.). I'm sure much smarter people will probably give you better advice but this is exactly the same thing I've done so I thought you would be interested anyways ;) Joseph -----Original Message----- From: Casper Swanepoel [mailto:casper () nsiit com] Sent: Wednesday, April 09, 2003 8:24 AM To: security-basics () securityfocus com Hi all I installed VMWare on my Windows 2000 Server machine. I also installed RedHat7.3 on VMWare, running on the same Windows 200 box. I mainly use the Linux installation to learn more about Linux. I want to route all my network traffic through the Linux box (firewall, proxy, snort) to my Windows box. Is this possible? Any help will be appreciated. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Is SPAM over-loading your e-mail server, disk space or bandwidth?
